God has devised a specific plan to prosper us financially. The more we give the more we’re blessed. But for some of us, it’s difficult to give.
We’re told in Malachi 3:10-11 to pay our tithes to God and in Luke 6:38 we’re told that whatever we give, we’ll receive again. We’re to give financially through our tithes and offerings, and He’ll meet our needs and desires. We must trust God by faith that He’ll keep His Word to us. That means that we must give first and trust that He’ll bless us. We should also give our talents to the Lord and He will see that they are increased.
“Giving to receive” is a spiritual law that everyone can tap into. Being a Christian isn’t a requirement for God’s laws to work, but it gives them more power and ability. If you believe that you have nothing to give, give out of the little that you do have. A few pennies, nickels, or dimes; give what you can and put your faith over that money to be blessed.
If you don’t have money to give, then give God your time. Training yourself to give out of obedience to God will develop the “spirit of giving” in your heart and open the door for great financial and material blessings. Just like faith, your money will grow out of the consistency of your giving, so don’t give up if you don’t receive immediately.
Where and How Do You Give?
Give to the church or ministry that you attend or is helping you spiritually based upon the Word of God. It should be helping you to rightly divide the Word of God.
When you do give, ask God in prayer to bless your money, thank Him, and then claim your return on it. Give quietly (Matthew 23:5)! If you want to be blessed, don't be showy about your giving, do it in silence. God likes us to give quietly and in private, so don't brag about what you give, keep that information between you and God whenever possible. Sometimes our giving must become common knowledge, but when you have a choice, choose to give God's way, with honor, respect, and dignity.
